How to make puff pastry pizza twists

Firstly, preheat the oven to 210℃/190℃ fan (410℉/375℉). Line two baking trays with baking parchment.

Then, lay out your puff pastry and slice it in half lengthways.

Spread one half evenly with the tomato sauce before sprinkling over the shredded mozzarella. Make sure the toppings are spread right to the edges of the pastry.

Carefully cover the sauce and mozzarella with the other half of the puff pastry.

In a small bowl, whisk the water together with the egg yolk. Brush the pastry all over with the egg mix.

Sprinkle over the garlic powder and mixed dried herbs before topping with the grated Parmesan.

Using a large sharp knife, slice the pastry into 6 even strips – slicing across the width of the pastry. Each slice will be around 1.5 inches/4cm wide.
